Surf Fishing at Delaware Seashore State Park

Striped Bass, Morone saxatilis (Scott)
Fact- Former President of The United States George W. Bush, in Executive Order 13449 of October 20, 2007, designated the Striped Bass as a protected game fish. Further, he directed executive agencies to use existing legal authorities, to the extent possible, to prohibit the sale of Striped Bass caught in Federal waters in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.

Whiptail Stingray, Dasyatis sabina (Scott)
Fact - Stingrays do not aggressively attack humans, though stings do normally occur if a ray is accidentally stepped on. To avoid stepping on a stingray in shallow water, the water should be waded through with a shuffle. Alternatively, before wading, stones can be thrown into the water to scare stingrays away.

Smooth Dogfish aka Dusky smooth-hound Mustelus canis (Scott)
Fact- Dogfish are quite variable in form and size. They are found worldwide, from polar to tropical waters, and from shallow coastal seas to the open ocean.



Thorny Skate Amblyraja radiata (Scott)
Fact - Native to the North Atlantic, It was also located in Lake Mellville, near Goose Bay, Larbrador. Rivers empty into the lake and the lake bottom is mostly made up of sand. Thorny skates have been caught in this lake in the 1980s by ice fishermen when outside temperatures were -30 degrees C.

Disc Golf at the Grange (err.. Blockhouse) Too Many Days in May 2011

Too Many Days in May Disc Golf Tournament at The Blockhouse! (Formally known as The Grange) The Private Course in Spotsylvania, VA has two 18 hole tournament courses and an 18 hole night course! Disc Golf Heaven.

Trap Pond State Park Adventure


Common Toad, Bufo bufo (Scott)
Fact- As defense they secrete a toxic called bufagin.
Garter Snakes and Hedgehogs are immune to it.

Sasquatch (Scott)

Garden Snail, Helix aspersa (Scott)
Fact - When hibernating, Helix aspersa avoids ice formation by altering the osmotic components of its blood, and can survive temperatures as low as -5 C.







Eastern Fence Lizard, Sceloporus undulatus (Scott)
Fact - There are 10 recognized subspecies of Sceloporus undulatus ranging across the Mid-Atlantic from New Jersey to Florida and as far west as Texas and New Mexico.

Eastern Painted Turtle, Chrysemys picta (Scott)
"Its a turtle, it can't outrun us!"
Fact - The sex ratio of painted turtle varies based on egg tempurature. During the middle third of incubation, temperatures of 23–27 °C (73–81 °F) produce males, and anything above or below that, female. It does not appear that females choose nesting sites to influence the sex of the hatchlings.



American Bullfrog, Rana catesbeiana (Scott)
Fact -Females have an eardrum (tympanum) the same size as their eye. Males' eardrums are larger.


Trap Pond is the northern most Baldcypress swamp in the US

Eastern Kingsnake Lampropeltis getula (Scott)
Fact - King snakes from the Coastal Plain have wider bands, while those found in mountainous areas have thinner bands or may be completely black.
